Every Child Deserves Their Own Bike
The Variety Bikes for Kids Program aims to give the gift of freedom, independence, exercise and joy to children who are sick or have additional needs, or those who have never been fortunate enough to have a bike of their own.
The wobbly start, the wind in your hair, the simple pride of riding on your own for the very first time. Every child deserves to feel that joy - but for many families doing it tough, the cost of a bike is simply out of reach.
Variety Bikes for Kids has been changing kids' lives for over two decades. Thanks to our incredible donors, we've delivered over 13,000 bikes to children in need.
For children living with disabilities, illness or experiencing disadvantage, bikes offer more than just a ride; they deliver joy, independence, and inclusion. Today, families face increased financial strain, making our program more essential than ever.
Our mission goes beyond gifting bikes. It sets kids on a path to a healthier, more active life with benefits such as improved fitness, endurance, and mental wellbeing. Join us in making a difference - one bike, one smile at a time.
The bikes will provide our students with more opportunity to engage with the Bike Ed program that we already run. We currently don’t have enough bikes and helmets to go around, so students lose time on bikes each lesson to swapping out equipment. We have students currently that can't ride a bike. With more bikes available in our program in a range of sizes and more time to teach skills, we will hopefully reach these children.
