Jack Eadon Equestrian Scholarship

Designed to help fund the costs of competing in equestrian events, including the funding of equipment, training, and travel. This scholarship recognises and honours the success, talent, and impact of Jack Eadon in the equestrian community.

Applications open Monday, 27 July and close Friday, 9 October 2026.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for a Jack Eadon Equestrian Scholarship, applicants need to be residents of Victoria and fall within the age range of 5 to 17 years old. Each applicant is eligible to hold only one scholarship within a 12-month period. Additionally, students must be enrolled in full-time primary, secondary, or tertiary education, which includes school years Prep - 12, TAFE, or other educational institutions.

Applications can be made on behalf of students by a parent/carer or another identified support person (medical professional, caseworker, teacher etc.)

What can be funded?

Primary School Students
• Educational supplies up to the value of $500 per child including books, stationary, uniform, camps and excursions

Secondary School/ TAFE Students
• Educational supplies up to the value of $1000 per child including books, stationary, uniform, camps and excursions
• Laptop and case (approved models only)

Assistive Technology up to the value of $1000 per child including C-Pens, controllers and accessible hardware or software

Documents Required To Apply

Don’t worry — most families already have these documents available.

Education support letter

A letter from a teacher, wellbeing officer or school representative.

• Must be on school letterhead and signed
• Confirms the student’s enrolment and attendance
• Explains how the support will benefit the student

Health professional letter (if required)

Required if applying for assistive technology or under disability/medical criteria.

• From an allied health professional or GP/paediatrician
• Must recommend the equipment or confirm diagnosis
• Must be on letterhead and signed

Proof of household income

Documents to show your household income.

• Most recent payslip, OR
• Centrelink Income Statement, OR
• Most recent tax return (if self-employed)

Additional supporting information

Extra details to support your application.

• Information about the student’s needs
• Details of how the support will be used
• Any relevant supporting documentation

How the Application Process Works

Our team reviews your application carefully and confidentially.
Outcome after the assessment process. Scholarships must be used within the approved calendar year.

Application

Complete the online form and provide supporting documents, including school and (if required) health professional recommendations.

• Applications can be submitted by a parent, carer or support person
• All required documents must be included
• Incomplete applications may be declined

Assessment

Our team reviews your application to ensure it meets the guidelines. Eligible applications are assessed by our grants committee.

• Reviewed for eligibility and completeness
• Shortlisted applications are assessed by the Grants Committee
• Recommendations are reviewed by the Variety Board

Outcome

You’ll receive an outcome via email once the process is complete.

• If approved, Variety pays suppliers directly
• Funding may be full or partial
• Funds must be used within the approved year

Applications are reviewed after the round closes. Timeframes may vary, and you will be notified once a decision has been made.

Only one scholarship can be awarded per child within a 12-month period.

You’ll receive an outcome email with next steps. Variety will arrange payment directly with the supplier for approved items.

If unsuccessful, you may be able to apply again in the next funding round.

No. Scholarships do not cover school fees or any costs already paid.
