When children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability are left with nowhere else to turn, we provide the critical help and hope they thought was out of reach.
Alex is a bright and bubbly four-year-old, who lives with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy. In addition to his diagnosis, Alex has challenges with sensory processing and has complex communication needs.
This year, we funded an x;panda chair for Alex, valued at $12,345. The chair provides postural support and sensory input, whilst enabling Alex to remain safely seated at all times.
Variety Heart Scholarship Recipient
Rita is a fourteen-year-old who loves horses and has a talent for equestrian. Rita and her horse Puffin, have a long list of eventing accolades including many first place ribbons. One day, Rita hopes to compete in the Olympics. Rita also has Cystic Fibrosis, and takes 35-40 tablets a day to manage her illness.
