At Variety – the Children’s Charity Victoria, we make sure children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with disability can access the care and opportunities they deserve.
Every child’s journey is different and so is the way we help.
From funding essential equipment to opening doors in education, sport, and the arts, we’re here to make sure every child can participate, belong and thrive. Through our grants and programs, we give children the freedom to move, learn and dream big, no matter their circumstance.
Individual Grants
We support children and families facing challenges by providing practical equipment and resources that make everyday life easier. This may include mobility equipment, communication devices, learning aids, technology and other supports that help kids live, learn and play more independently.
We support schools, not-for-profits and community groups that work with kids in need. Our grants help fund equipment, technology, educational resources and other tools that make programs more inclusive and accessible for the children they support.
Variety Heart Scholarships help children and young people aged 8–17 follow their dreams in sport or the arts. We support kids living with disability, chronic illness, financial hardship or in regional areas by helping cover the costs that might otherwise stand in the way.
We support children who are experiencing disadvantage with assistance to cover basic educational needs such as textbooks, stationery, uniforms, camps and excursions.
Variety delivers inclusive programs and school initiatives that build confidence, skills and belonging, while promoting disability awareness and inclusion in the community.
While the individual programs we provide may not be unique, the breadth of our support for children is unmatched.
We understand that no two children’s situations are the same. That’s why we’ve created a wide range of programs designed to meet every aspect of a child’s journey, addressing both immediate and long-term needs.
